Matt, brilliant overview of this wonderful project. I really think some people actually think everyone in the upper classes have always spoken as Charles iii does with plums up their noses. They forget that this lot went to lessons to speak as they do, it's not natural and it's just to show off. Henry Tudor probably had a Welsh or part Welsh, part Brittany accent.
French hadn't been the English Court language for some time. In Scotland it was because of their closer connections to France. It wasn't in England.
I really enjoyed the day on 17th, even watching it remotely. It was brilliant. The historians and the voice experts have worked really hard on this for 10 years. Who are these people making criticism? A bunch of nobodies on social media as usual. I have no idea how to put together a voice from 500 years ago so bow to the expertise of those who worked on this wonderful project. I haven't a clue so take the word of those who do. It was fascinating hearing what went into this achievement. It was also fascinating hearing the follow up talk last week. Congratulations.
